Thriller film audience
Thriller films tend to appeal to the age range of 15-25, although deepening on the Sub-Genre the audience can vary. Thrillers that are borderline horror films appeal more to young females whilst legal and crime thrillers appeal to the older crowd. Thrillers with more gore may appeal more to males rather than females.
The genre that we are inspired by; Asian-Horror or Oriental-Horror appeals to a wide range of people, both male and female.Take J-Horror for example, you would expect mainly Japanese people to watch this, however many others also enjoy J-Horror, reasons being that it is possibly the most fearful of horrors/thrillers, those who enjoy Japanese culture may also want to watch Japanese films. J-Horror may also appeal to those wishing to view a more 'exotic' range of horror films. The age range is around 16-24.

I think you're getting the idea of film distribution a bit mixed up with film audiences. J-horror would be watched by Japanese people in Japan, but who might watch it over here? I would hazard a guess it'd be horror film fans who are looking for something a bit more "exotic".
