Planning Our Thriller

During our media session our group began creating a brainstorm for any possible ideas for our thriller. After doing plenty of research into Korean/Japanese thrillers, we decided it will be a great idea to use the same techniques they did and use a Korean/Japanese theme, in terms of using their style of writing and possibly the same sort of villain, as many use a devious little girl who has come for revenge or is holding a grudge. We also found a suitable piece of music to add to our opening which has been used in the "Chackushin Ari" trailer, which sounds like innocent doll music but has been ironically put in a horror/thriller trailer. Furthermore, our group also though it would be great adding some form of intertextuality, as we have been learning about it and have seen various different movies borrow from "Psycho". Deciding upon locations, we though amongst the group which area would be good for filming, in which Vanessa suggested that there is a forest in Essex, which will be a great filming location, I also know of a park that includes a church near to our college which is another location we could possibly use. Moving on, we have also seen many of the antagonists wearing white dresses adding to their ghost like appearances, so in terms of this we could also use the same.

Another one of our ideas is about a janitor who is alone at a school or college during the evening, in which he is shutting the lights off and locking up the classroom doors, as he is exiting the building the lights begin to flicker on and off, the janitor begins calling out if anybody is there but he receives no response, all together the lights turn off and the janitor assumes its only a electrical malfunction, the janitor walks away but is soon mysteriously and viciously pulled away into a class room in which he screams in fear, a couple of seconds later the screaming and shouting stops, and the lights turn back on, showing no signs of the janitor and leaving the word "revenge" written on the wall in blood. Our group decided if we were to use this idea we could film in our college saving more time.
